Description

Three photographs.

This Greek key (or fret) and rosette design is under the fluted, Corinthian columns of the main entrance to NYPL. This pattern repeats at this height along the entire facade of NYPL. The Greek key design is still very popular and is used in modern design. Rosettes were used in Greek and Roman decoration.
