Nine photographs. The rotunda in Low Library was where the main stacks were located. When the library ran out of room, there was nowhere to expand, so Butler Library was built and the main library moved there.
The first photograph is looking up into the center of the dome, where there is a small, lighted occulus.
The second photograph shows the columns and arch that decorate two of the sides that support the dome.
The third and fourth photographs are of the architectural decorations in the arch (rosettes); the fifth photograph is a detail of the wreath detail that decorates the frieze above the columns.
The sixth photograph is of the railing decoration above the frieze.
The seventh photograph is of the statues on pedestals that decorate the other two sides that support the dome.
The last two photographs are of two of the supports for the dome. The gold medallion decoration can be seen on each, and two subjects (law and philosophy) are etched below them.
