Description

Two illustrations of the library.

The image that has the different areas marked also includes the tetraconch church that had been built after the library was destroyed. The drawing shows how the library was laid out. The colonnaded walkway around the large fountain and green area contained shops and statues, which has led some to claim that the complex really was not a library.
