Description
This is probably part of the pediment that was over the entrance to the Library of Hadrian complex. Columned porticos with pediments above were iconic for Greek temples. Pediments were incorporated into Roman architecture, like many other aspects of Greek architecture.
Made of white Pentelic marble, the corner is too small to determine if there were figures decorating the pediment..
