Five photographs. Alma Mater, which was made by Daniel Chester French in 1903. The statue is on a marble and granite pedestal designed by Charles Follen McKim of McKim, Mead & White, It is a level below the library but situated right in front of the entrance. The statue is of Minerva, Roman goddess of wisdom and war (the equivalent of the Greek Athena), who has arms outstretched, her right holding a scepter and the left open in greeting; an open book rests on her lap. She wears a laurel crown on her head.

The first two photographs are of the statue from the front and side.

The third and fourth photographs are detailed close-ups of the statue's front.

The fifth photograph is a detail from the back of the statue, below the back of the chair.
